184 Workers Violate Labour Law

Muscat — The weekly report of the joint inspection

team at the Ministry of Manpower pointed out that the number of

workers violating the Labour Law during 27th August till 4th September

2017stood at (184) including (149) commercial workers, (18)

farmworkers and (17) housemaids and their equivalents.

The inspection teams caught (179) workers including (85)

absconding workers, (84) astray workers and (10) workers with other

violations.

The Governorate of Muscat witnessed the largest number of

workers violating the law with (65) followed by the Governorate of

A’Dakhiliyah with (24) workers.

The competent authorities at the Ministry of Manpower are taking

the legal procedures against them.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Manpower statistics showed

that (29) expatriate workers were deported for violating provisions of the

Labour Law and the ministerial decisions executing the law.
