LEBANON’S HEALTH MINISTER TIGHTENS REGULATIONS ON BEAUTY CLINICS FOLLOWING DEATH OF WOMAN

Lebanon’s Minister of Public Health, Ghassan Hasbani, has ordered strict measures, to regulate the activities of beauty clinics, following the death of 33-year-old Farah Kassab, at one of Lebanon’s notorious plastic surgery hospitals.

A statement issued on Monday, by the Minister’s office, indicated that regulations included the ban of surgeries requiring general anesthesia, at Nader Saab Hospital, where Kassab, a Jordanian-Iraqi, had died after a liposuction operation.

Hasbani has also sent a letter to the State Prosecution and Beirut Physicians’ Order, urging a probe into the incident.-
