15 New Cases of Omicron Registered in Oman: Covid-19 Supreme Committee

Muscat, As part of its ongoing convening, the Supreme Committee tasked with tackling developments resulting from coronavirus (Covid-19) today held a session during which it followed up updates about coronavirus, ways to protect society against it and means of curbing the spread of the disease and addressing its different impacts.

The Supreme Committee studied data issued by the Ministry of Health. The Ministry reported 15 new cases of infection with Covid-19’s latest mutant, “Omicron” in Oman. The new cases are currently under epidemiological investigation.

The Supreme Committee urged all members of society to exercise caution and comply with all precautionary measures, namely, to wear face masks indoors, maintain physical distancing, avoid all crowded areas and keep the hands clean.

The Supreme Committee exhorted all people aged 18 years and above to go for a third booster dose of Covid-19 vaccines available at primary healthcare establishments.
