160th GCC ministerial meeting commences in Qatar

The 160th Ministerial Meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries officially commenced on Sunday in Doha, with the participation of Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya.

In his speech, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman stated that the ministerial conference bolsters the already concrete relations between the GCC countries and reflects willingness to achieve joint strategic development and integration.

He also emphasized that the region is surrounded by conflicts that compel the leaders to take political and economic action, highlighting the war in Gaza and the persistent Israeli occupation’s aggression.

He added that the international community has yet to act to stop the injustice and rescue innocent Palestinian civilians, reiterating Qatar’s stance alongside Palestine and called for the establishment of a free, independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.

The GCC countries have worked tirelessly to bolster relations and have disc
ussions on strategies across all fields, which is manifesting in the council’s vision of achieving regional stability and security, he added.
