2nd World Conference on Sustainable Environmental Sciences Kicks Off in Sohar


Sohar: Organized by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), the Second International Conference on Sustainable Environmental Sciences and Engineering kicked off today in Sohar.

The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Mahad Said Ba’owain, Minister of Labour.

The two-day conference is attended by local and international experts and specialists in technical sciences and their use in environmental sustainability.

Activities of the conference’s first day studied two specialized papers-the first of which deals with zero-carbon neutrality projects in Oman, and the second focuses on an application to cut down carbon emissions through evaporation, condensation and humidity on smooth surfaces.

The event saw the opening of an exhibition showcasing more than 28 research posters on the most important projects related to the conference topics-the stages of their implementation and the scientific outcomes that they yield.

The conference brings about experts and academics from 9 countri
es who present 70 working papers and summaries of their experiences.
