5.8-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Kepulauan Babar Region in Eastern Indonesia


An earthquake measuring 5.8 magnitude on the Richter scale struck off the coast of the Maluku Islands in eastern Indonesia today.

No casualties or property damage have been reported so far.

The US Geological Survey reported that the earthquake occurred in the Kepulauan Babar region, east of the Maluku Archipelago, at a depth of 80.1 km A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck the Kepulauan Babar region two days ago, without any damage reported.
