9th Arab, OIC States’ Cybersecurity Exercise Kicks Off

Muscat, The 9th Cybersecurity Exercise of Arab and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) states began today via videoconferencing under the motto of “Enhancing Cybersecurity Readiness”.

The exercise is organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology’s Informatic Safety Centre.

The drill is being organized by the Sultanate for the fourth consecutive time. The event included a simulation of cyberattacks and IT security incidents aimed at testing the readiness and capabilities of cybersecurity units and their response to offensives.

The exercise seeks to enhance coordination and cooperation among different establishments and upgrade their ability to address security incidents. It also raises awareness about mechanisms and procedures to be undertaken when tackling electronic hazards and threats.
