Heads of Public Sector Units Hold Joint Meeting on Government Digital Transformation Programme

Muscat, Heads of Units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus today held their first joint meeting on the five-year Government Digital Transformation Programme (2021-2025) endorsed by the Council of Ministers in July 2021.

The meeting was aimed at establishing a common platform for higher administration in the government sector to help monitor the progress made in the programme, the challenges and measures to resolve them to ensure streamlined implementation of the action plan and to achieve the desired national goals.

The meeting touched on the regulatory aspects and the rate of accomplishment of e-government goals of 2021. It also studied the 2022 targets, the mechanism of monitoring, follow-up and measuring to be utilized to assess the course of action, as well as the proposed projects and initiatives.

Eng. Said Hamoud Al Ma’awali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, outlined the roles and responsibilities of heads of government units and the teams tasked with implementing the programme. The Ministry will submit regular reports to the Council of Ministers accordingly.

The five-year plan of the government digital transformation programme is aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and the priorities of the national economy.
