EMMANUEL MACRON RE-ELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF FRANCE FOR A SECOND TERM WITH APPROXIMATELY 58.2% OF VOTES

Emmanuel Macron was re-elected president of France for a second term after defeating his far-right rival Marine Le Pen, according to first estimates published by polling centers, as reported by AFP.

Macron, the Liberal Centrist, won between 57.6 and 58.2 percent of the votes, ahead of the National Rally candidate, who won between 41.8 and 42.4 percent of the votes, according to those estimates. The abstention rate ranged between 27.8 and 29.8 percent.
