At least two soldiers were killed in a blast in Pakistan?’s northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province bordering Afghanistan on Tuesday, said military.

According to a press release issued by Pakistan military?’s media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), two soldiers lost their lives in a blast from an improvised explosive device in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan district in KPK. The statement further said that sanitization of the area was being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found there. “Armed forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” said ISPR.

Earlier last week, a terrorist was killed and two others were injured during an exchange of fire with security forces in the Spinwam area. A rise in militant attacks is witnessed in KPK and Balochistan provinces after banned outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan ended its ceasefire with the government in November last year.
