The marine area where Al-Durra offshore field lies is part of the State of Kuwait’s sea territories, and its natural resources therein are shared between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, an official source at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
It is only the State of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia that have exclusive rights to the natural resources of Al-Durra field, the source said in a press statement.
The source reiterated Kuwait’s call on the Iranian side to start negotiations over the demarcation of the marine boundary between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia on the one hand and the Iranian side on the other hand, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
