Britain Invests 100 Million Pounds in Ai Research, Regulation

London: The United Kingdom announced a £100 million ($125 million) investment to establish nine new artificial intelligence (AI) research hubs and enhance regulator training in technology.

Approximately £90 million will fund hubs focusing on AI applications in healthcare, chemistry, and mathematics, including collaboration with the US on responsible AI.

Another £10 million will support regulators in addressing AI risks across sectors like telecoms, healthcare, finance, and education.

Britain previously hosted an international AI safety summit where over 25 countries signed the “Bletchley Declaration” to collaborate on identifying and mitigating shared AI risks.
