HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs the weekly Cabinet Meeting

Manama, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet commended His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s noble message on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, which emphasised the crucial role of the media in highlighting environmental issues and increasing public awareness of its consequences, in line with the Kingdom’s progress in this domain.

The Cabinet also marked Bahraini Press Day, commending the efforts of Bahraini media and journalism professionals in furthering the Kingdom’s wide-ranging development goals.

Upon HM the King’s Royal Order to adjourn the second session of the sixth Legislative Term of the Shura and Representatives councils, the Cabinet noted the accomplishments resulting from the collaboration between the Executive and Legislative Authorities and their efforts in furthering the Kingdom’s comprehensive development.

The Cabinet affirmed the depth of the strat
egic Bahrain-UK partnership, which has flourished over more than two centuries under the commitment of HM the King. In this regard, the Cabinet praised the outcomes of His Royal Highness’s visit to the UK, in which HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister met with His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Head of the Commonwealth, and attended the Royal Windsor Horse Show’s Endurance race on behalf of HM the King.

The Cabinet expressed its thanks to His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Head of the Commonwealth, for his hospitality, the Cabinet also commended the organisers of the Royal Windsor Horse Show for their efforts in hosting the event.

The Cabinet congratulated the Bahrain’s Royal Endurance Team and the Bahrain Show Jumping Team for their performances at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, and their passion for achievements which exemplifies the professional level reached by the Kingdom in the equestrian se
ctor.

On the occasion of International Nurses Day, the Cabinet expressed its thanks to Bahraini nurses across the healthcare sector for their dedication to providing high-quality health and medical treatment services in accordance with best practices and quality standards.

The Cabinet then extended its condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, following the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Badr bin Abdul Mohsen bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Cabinet also conveyed its sympathy to the Saudi Royal family and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Cabinet also extended its condolences to the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, following the passing of Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan. The Cabinet also conveyed i
ts sympathy to the Al Nahyan family and the people of the UAE.

The Cabinet then discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following:

1. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance regarding updates on the Kingdom of Bahrain’s performance in key indicators measuring competitiveness.

2. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning on regulatory procedures for housing services.

3. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the government’s response to three proposals and three laws submitted by the Council of Representatives.

The Cabinet then reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, which tracks the performance of government agencies in the “Sijilat”, “Tawasul” and “Benayat” online platforms from January to April 2024, in comparison to the corresponding period in 2023.

1. Key topics discussed by the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation at the World Economic Forum in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

2. Outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the 50th Arab Labour Conference.

3. Outcomes of the Bahrain-C3 Davos of Healthcare and Business Summit.

4. Outcomes of the official visit of the Minister of Health to the United Kingdom.

5. Outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in ministerial meetings to enhance cooperation between GCC countries within the commercial and industrial fields.
