Arab League: Int’l community required to end Israeli aggression

Arab League stressed on Monday that the international community is required to shoulder responsibility to “overcome its discrepancy and double slandered stances” which only encouraged Israeli occupation aggression to commit horrific genocides.

This came during a speech at the 111 session of the Conference of Supervisors of Palestinian Affairs in Arab Host Countries by Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and the Occupied Arab Territories at the Arab League Ambassador Dr. Said Abu Ali.

Abu Ali called for taking a decisive stand and practical measures to end this aggression, calling the international community to immediately launch a political process within a specific timeframe that leads to addressing the root causes of the conflict that have been ongoing for more than seven decades.

He added that such move should be done through implementing the two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with the resolutions of international l
egitimacy and what is stipulated in the Arab Peace Initiative.

Today’s conference was held at a time where the “Palestinian case” is going through the most difficult challenges since Al-Nakba in 1948 with the unprecedented ongoing Israeli occupation aggression for consecutive months on Gaza Strip and West Bank.

The continuous Israeli aggression on the West Bank and Gaza since October 7th, 2023 resulted in a systematic destruction of all aspects of life in the Gaza Strip, as a result of a genocidal war that is the most barbaric in the records of modern history, Abu Ali added.

The Israeli occupation aggression resulted in more than 130,000 martyred, wounded and missing persons, the arrest of more than 5,000, and the internal displacement of two million people, he added.

He stressed that the situation in the West Bank is as dangerous as what is happening in the Gaza Strip in terms of targeting and exploitation by the Israeli occupation authority.

The Ambassador paid tribute and appreciation to the countries
that stood for humanity and international justice for South Africa and the countries that joined it in its lawsuit before the International Court of Justice.

He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the countries that recently announced recognition of the Palestinian state, calling on countries that have not yet recognized it to take this important step to enhance the chances of peace.

Abu Ali also expressed deep appreciation to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), its Commissioner-General, and all its employees for their great efforts during this ongoing Israeli aggression.

For his part, Director of the Palestine Department at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kamel Jalal, confirmed in his speech that his country will maintain its firm position of rejecting the liquidation of the Palestinian cause and the displacement of Palestinians from their land.

Jalal said that history and the human conscience will record the repercussions of that war as a true traged
y, whose title was excessive killing, revenge, besieging of people, starving, terrorizing and displacing their children.

Egypt has been keen, since the first day of the outbreak of the war, to move with all force on humanitarian, security and political tracks in parallel, with the aim of working not only to stop the bleeding of Palestinian blood, but also to heal it and prevent attempts to besiege it, jalal added He stressed Egypt’s rejection of the Israeli occupation military movements in the Palestinian city of Rafah, warning of their dire humanitarian implications for the future of about 1.5 million displaced people.

Jalal pointed out that Egypt is continuing its mediation efforts to spare the blood of the Palestinian people, stressing that the continued inflexible positions of the occupied regime regarding the ongoing war in Gaza and its unwillingness to resume the course of the political process to settle the conflict will only lead to further deepening the forces of extremism and terrorism in the Midd
le East region at the expense of voices of moderation.
