Mikati’s Grand Serail meetings address humanitarian crisis amid ongoing Israeli aggression

Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Tuesday conducted a series of meetings at the Grand Serail during which he discussed the current situation and the government’s efforts to address the humanitarian repercussions of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon.

During the meetings, Mikati conferred with UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for Lebanon, Imran Riza, regarding the humanitarian assistance provided by the United Nations during this critical time.

He also met with Minister of Finance, Youssef Khalil, and Acting Governor of the Lebanese Central Bank, Wassim Mansouri, with whom he reviewed the country’s financial conditions.

Additionally, Mikati consulted with Minister of Environment and National Crisis and Disaster Management Committee Coordinator, Nasser Yassine, who briefed him on the committee’s efforts to shelter those displaced from areas affected by the aggression and provide them with essential supplies.

‘The number of shelters in schools has reached approximately 150, with
the number of displaced individuals increasing to 16,500,’ Yassine said, adding that “the Prime Minister has instructed the High Relief Committee to continue securing necessary assistance for the displaced.”
