Agreement Inked to Fund Prestressed Concrete Construction in Sur

Muscat The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and Oman India Fertilizer Company (OMIFCO) today signed an agreement to fund the construction of prestressed concrete for mountainous roads in Tiwi and Qalhat in the Wilayat of Sur, Governorate of South A’Sharqiyah.

The agreement was signed within the framework of effective community partnership and contribution to support and finance social investment projects.

This initiative caps the efforts and field visits made by specialists from South A’Sharqiyah Roads Department and OMIFCO, in coordination with the office of the Deputy Wali of Sur and the participation of Tiwi residents.

The initiative identified sites that require construction of prestressed concrete in Tiwi roads. The move will reduce traffic disruption during climatic conditions.

The agreement was signed by Eng. Khamis Mohammed Al Shamakhi, Undersecretary for Transport, and Eng. Qassim Mohammed Al Balushi, Manager of Strategic Planning for Sustainability at OMIFCO.
