Agreement Signed to Operate Mirbat Castle, Adjoining Facilities


Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism today signed an agreement with Mirbat-Sadah Development and Investment Company to manage and operate Mirbat Castle.

The agreement also covers the rebuilding and operation of the archaeology antiques market and customs office in the Wilayat of Mirbat in the Dhofar Governorate.

The agreement was inked by Eng. Ibrahim Said Al Kharousi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Heritage, and Braik Musallam Al Amri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mirbat-Sadah Development and Investment Company.

The agreement builds on the success ventures undertaken by Ministry to initiate investment opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It also aims to utilize cultural heritage in a way that ensures its sustainability and maximizes benefits. It constitutes a link in a series of actions to achieve the 10th Development Plan and its strategic programmes.
