Amerat gets new facility for recreation

Muscat: Muscat Municipality announced the completion of the Al Nahda City Walk in the Wilayat of Al Amerat, which will offer more open space to people for recreation.

Within the framework of its vision aimed at developing the municipal work system with specifications and standards that meet the requirements of sustainability, this project works to provide quality facilities that enhance health activities for individuals.

The project includes having a walkway and bicycle path with a length of 1,200 metres. The width of the walkway designated for walking is 5 metres. It is adjacent to a longitudinal corridor dedicated to bicycles with a width of 3 metres. For asphalt parking, with the installation of lighting poles with an estimated number of 70 columns.

The project objects to exploiting public spaces with projects that promote sports and physical health in the community and develop and beautify the area in accordance with modern concepts in city management and planning.

In addition to exploiting the site in line with the activities that serve the community, the project is a service adding to the public facilities in the Wilayat of Al Amerat. It will provide an outlet for the people of the area, motivate them to practice a healthy lifestyle, and find the appropriate place to practice walking and cycling in a designated path that ensures the safety of pedestrians.

The project is the third of its kind in the Wilayat of Al Amerat, along with the Al Mahaj Walk and Longitudinal Garden Walk in the Fifth phase, completed to improve the urban landscape of urban planning in the wilayat.

This will provide the components of projects that serve community members for multiple purposes, and thus achieve a healthy and safe city with the elements of prosperity and sustainability that serve all visitors and residents of the governorate.
