Arab League members prepare for third Arab-Japanese political dialogue

The permanent delegates of the member states of the Arab League held a meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Egypt, to prepare for the third session of the ministerial meeting of the (Arab-Japanese political dialogue).

The meeting is scheduled to be held on September 5, on the sidelines of the 160th session of the League Council at the ministerial level.

In a statement, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the International Political Affairs Sector of the Arab League, Mohammad Manzalawi said that during the meeting, the permanent delegates were informed of the ongoing preparations for the third session, in order to obtain positive results that serve common interests and fulfill the aspirations of the leaders and peoples of the Arab countries and Japan.

Manzalawi pointed out that the (Arab-Japanese political dialogue) was established according to the memorandum of cooperation signed between the Foreign Minister of Japan and the Secretary-General of the Arab League in 2013.

The first session of this dialogue was held in 2017 at the headquarters of the General Secretariat, while the second session was held virtually in 2021.

The Kuwaiti delegation in the meeting was headed by Kuwait’s Ambassador to Egypt and permanent representative to the Arab League Ghanim Al-Ghanim.
