Arab League Stresses the Positive Role of the Sultanate in Arab Joint Work System

Ahmed Abu al- Ghait, Secretary General of the League of Arab States stressed the active and positive role played by the Sultanate in the joint Arab work system under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said.

The League of Arab States said in a statement today that Abu al-Gait during his meeting with Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, said that he was looking forward for continuing this important Omani role in serving the Arab Umma issues.

The plenipotentiary Minister Mahmoud Afifi, Arab League Secretary General Spokesman said that Yousef bin Alawi, on his turn, affirmed the Sultan’s support and appreciation for the efforts made by the Arab League Secretary General to address the different Arab issues including the prioritized issues on top of which the Palestinian issue and the development in the war-torn Arab states.

He added that the meeting discussed the major developments in the Arab region during the coming stage and how to build on the important discussions that took place between the Arab foreign ministers during the ministerial council meetings to coordinate visions about defending the Arab interests in general. It also discussed how to build on the meeting of the Arab Peace Initiative Committee about the steps to be taken to address the latest developments of the Palestinian issue on top of which the U.S. Administration confession of the occupied Al Quds as a capital of Israel and its intention to transfer its Embassy to it in May 2018.
