Assigned by HM The Sultan, Endowments Minister Fetes Winners at Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Contest
Muscat, Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Dr. Mohammed Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, presided over the felicitation of winners at 30th edition of Sultan Qaboos Contest for Holy Quran Memorisation 2022. The ceremony took place at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Musque.
The contest seeks to encourage Omani youth to memorise the Holy Quran and adhere to its teachings. It also aims to groom a generation of Holy Quran reciters who can serve as an element of social reform and teach the Holy Quran in accordance with the norms set by scholars and established reciters.
The guest of honour handed over the prizes to the top winners of 7 levels of the Sultan Qaboos Competition for Holy Quran Memorisation 2022, as well as the jury, the Holy Quran community and participants from the segment of the disabled.
The competition levels were stated as follows: Memorisation of the whole Holy Quran, memorisation of 24 successive parts, memorisation of 18 successive parts, memorisation of 12 successive parts, memorisation of 6 successive parts, memorisation of 4 successive parts and memorisation of 2 successive parts. Conditions of age groups apply to the last three categories.
