The delegation comprised Sayyid Hamood Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and a number of senior officials.

HH Sayyid Asa’ad and his accompanying delegation were received at the Leadership Pavilion by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Dubai and Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai.

Held at Al Wasl Plaza, Expo 2020 Dubai, the ceremony began by hoisting the Sultanate of Oman’s flag and playing the Royal Anthem.

HH Sayyid Asaad said in a speech on the occasion, read by Qais Al Yousef, that “Oman’s participation in this international event stems from the deep-rooted relations of the two countries”.

Through its participation in this major global event, the Sultanate of Oman presents to the visitors of Oman’s pavilion the aspirations of government institutions and private establishments, their innovations and the contributions of Omani Youth, deemed the mainstay of the nation’s future.

Al Yousef pointed out that the Omani pavilion embodied the talents of youth, who constitute 100% workforce in the management and development of the pavilion’s content.

Oman’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai takes its visitors into an inspirational journey that reflects interaction of minds across the ages. It narrates modern Oman’s decades-old experience—laying emphasis on true opportunities—and its bright future within the context of Oman Vision 2040.

Then, HH Sayyid Asa’ad and his accompanying delegation went on tour of the Omani Pavilion and viewed its contents, which highlight four main themes: Sustainability, Youth Care, Communication and Knowledge. It showcases various aspects of domestic development in Oman and the country’s Renewed Renaissance and future visions.

HH Sayyid Asaad listened to a briefing about the three main sections of the pavilion, which are “The Frankincense Tree” (ground floor), “Sustainability” and “The Harvest” (first floor) and “The Future” (second floor).

HH Sayyid Asaad later visited the UAE pavilion and was received, along with his delegation, by Sheikh Hamdan Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum, Heir Apparent of Dubai (Chairman of the UAE Executive Council) and Sheikh Ahmed Said Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Aviation Authority (Chairman of Dubai Expo 2020 Supreme Committee). The pavilion offers an overview about the UAE’s growth and exhibits reflecting the country’s culture and achievements.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, various popular shows were held, along with a military music show in the corridors of the pavilion.
