The Iraqi Foreign Ministry on Saturday condemned, in the strongest words, the desecration of the Holy Quran and the Iraqi flag in front of the Iraqi Embassy in Denmark.
The ministry said, in a press release, that this heinous act has nothing to do whatsoever with the right of expression and freedom of demonstration, stressing that it would only trigger off reactions and put all parties in critical situations.
It called on the international community to take urgent and responsible action in response to such acts that break peace and coexistence across the world.
