Muscat: The Bait AlGhasham DarArab Translation Prize announced the opening of submissions for the second round 2024/2025.

This notable cultural initiative is dedicated to celebrating and promoting exceptional Arabic literature, featuring two prominent categories: the Translators’ Prize and the Authors’ Prize.

Submissions will be accepted till 31 July 2024. Authors and translators are invited to submit their unpublished literary works and translations via dedicated online forms for each category. The judges for this round will be selected to ensure a fresh and impartial evaluation of all submissions.

The Bait AlGhasham DarArab Prize, funded by Bait AlGhasham and managed by DarArab, is an annual celebration of Arabic literature and its translation into English.

The prize highlights the crucial role of translation in global communication and cultural exchange, recognizing authors and translators for bringing Arabic literary treasures to a global audience.

The Authors Category targets unpublished literary wo
rks in Arabic, such as novels, autobiographies, short stories, and poetry collections.

The Translators Category focuses on unpublished English translations of Arabic literary works published since 1970.
