Benzema, Vinicius: Real Madrid’s Golden Partnership

Benzema, Vinicius: Real Madrid’s Golden Partnership

Madrid, Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior combined again on Sunday for Real Madrid to complete a dramatic late comeback at Mestalla to beat Valencia.

The pair have looked unstoppable together to start the season, and everything they touch turns to gold at the moment. Valencia had been in control for most of the game, until Vinicius and Benzema took over late on. First, Vinicius levelled, and then Benzema won the game after an excellent assist from the Brazilian.

Not for the first time, Benzema and Vinicius came to Los Blancos’ rescue, keeping them unbeaten with five wins and a draw this season.

Vini’s form in front of goal continued as he bagged his fifth goal of the season. His subsequent assist for Benzema’s goal meant that he has now directly participated in 10 of Los Blancos’ 16 goals this season across LaLiga Santander and the Champions League.

It’s a case of more of the same from Benzema, who got his sixth of the season already, as well as his four assists.

Benzema just keeps on scoring, and his goal on Sunday was his 285th for Real Madrid, leaving him just four shy of Santillana as the club’s fourth highest-ever goalscorer. Then, there’s Cristiano Ronaldo (451), Raul Gonzalez (323) and Alfredo Di Stefano (308) left to close in on, the Spanish MARCA newspaper reported.
