Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly said the significance of BRICS lies in the fact that the grouping is striking a balance in the global affairs.
The growing influence and expansion of the group membership will help do away with the concept of unipolar world, he told reporters on Thursday.
Egypt will draw benefits from joining the grouping which will enhance the country’s presence on the global arena, the prime minister affirmed.
Madbouly made the comments while representing President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi at the XV BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In its first expansion, the group, which currently includes the world’s four major emerging economies – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, has decided to accept six new members namely, Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates
