BTEA, Emirates sign MoU

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) and Emirates Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the final day of Arabian Travel Market (ATM).

The MoU, aimed at increasing tourist traffic in Bahrain, was signed by Fatima Bint Jaffer Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism and BTEA Chairman, and Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer.

BTEA and Emirates will explore a range of joint marketing efforts that include tourism promotions and campaigns, organizing trips, among other activities.

The minister said that this partnership demonstrates the two countries’ commitment to promoting tourism and contributing to the region’s economic development.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates Chief Commercial Officer stressed his pride in serving Bahrain’s market for over 23 years, and wishes to further boost cooperation in the sector.

“We are pleased to be working with BTEA. With our strong presence in Bahrain and our global network that extends to over 140 passenger destinations, we are well-placed to support the development of the Kingdom’s tourism sector even further,” he added.

The partnership aims to increase Bahrain’s appeal in key markets like Japan, Korea, Spain, Hungary, and Poland, as well as to grow mindshare among travelers from Israel and the UAE.

Emirates will support Bahrain’s new tourism strategy (2022-2026) that aims to attract 14.1 million tourists by 2026.

Nearly 9.9 million tourists visited Bahrain in 2022, with further growth expected this year.
