Bulletin No. 2 on Tropical Storm Luban in Arabian Sea

Muscat, The latest weather charts and satellite

imageries of the National Multi-Hazard and Early Warning Centre show

that the location of the centre of the tropical storm called “Luban” at

latitude 12.1 N and longitude 61.1 E, around 940 km away from

Salalah city with surface winds speed ranging between 35 to 40 knots

(64 to 74 km/h).

The bulletin issued today by the Public Authority for Civil Aviation

(PACA) said that the tropical storm “Luban” continues to move towards

the west/ northwestward. The latest weather prediction charts show the

possibility of indirect impacts of the storm on the Governorates of

Dhofar and Al Wusta starting from after tomorrow (Wednesday), 10

October 2018 with isolated rains and rising sea waves with maximum

heights between 2 to 3 meters.

The National Multi-Hazard and Early Warning Centre keeps
