Muscat: The Oman Water and Wastewater services Company (OWWSC) has issued a clarification regarding what is being circulated on social media about the mountain collapse in the Wilayat of Al Amerat and the impact of the water distribution network in the state as a result.

Diam confirms its keenness to ensure supply in the wilayat and assures that the mountain collapse will not affect water distribution network.

The Oman Water and Wastewater services Company said in a clarification: “Referring to what was circulated on social media about the mountain collapse in the Wilayat of Al Amerat and the impact of the water distribution network in the state as a result of this collapse, the Omani Company for Water and Wastewater Services explains that it has taken all measures to ensure that subscribers in the state are not affected. An alternative line has been activated from the state of Baushar to supply the affected areas with water.”

Diam added, “In addition, the company is working to address the damages in the network and ensure the continuity of water supply to subscribers.”

The company called on subscribers to rationalise water consumption and not pay attention to rumours and take information from its official source.
