The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced, Sunday, that it has stopped dealing with one commercial company as a precaution, preventing it from selling frozen poultry in all branches until further notice. All trades with the supplier is suspended as well as the sale of its products in all co-ops until the Food Authority tests them for consumption safety.
A viral video on social media shot by a consumer revealed the company’s “spoiled frozen chicken” sold at local co-ops and ration branches. An inspection team from the Ministry of Commerce and the Food Authority was sent immediately to check and test the products as well as to verify the branch’s compliance with the Ministry’s regulations. The Ministry will refer the matter to the Public Prosecution in the event that the chicken is proven to be spoiled and not fit for human consumption.
