Cooperation Agreement Signed to Develop Skills of 20 Omani Girls

Muscat, The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation signed a cooperation programme (SHE STEMS) with the Ministry of Labour and Oman Cables Industry company for social development and facilitate women’s access to the labour market.

The programme seeks to develop the skills of 20 Omani girls to qualify them to work in sectors of industry, science, technology, engineering and Maths in Oman.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrooqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Sayyid Salim Musallam Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development, and Cinzia Farise, CEO, Oman Cables Industry.

Dr. Rahma said that the initiative launched by Oman Cables Industry is aimed at developing the potential of Omani women, offering them new opportunities in the labour market.

The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation pursued cooperation with many sectors to ensure the quality of women’s empowerment programmes capable of qualifying them to contest the labour market, locally and internationally.
