Cooperation Programme Signed to Provide Training for People with Disability

Muscat, The Ministry of Social Development today signed a cooperation programme with the Capital Market Authority (CMA) for community partnership in enhancing and providing a training programme for people with disability in fields related to the capital market and insurance sectors.

The programme comes within the framework of the initiative “Be with us for them”.

The move aims to empower people with disability and enhance their role in the society by honing their capabilities and competences.

The cooperation programme was signed by Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Abdullah Salim Al Salmi, CEO of the CMA.

Al Shamsi said that this initiative stems from the Ministry’s keenness to develop programmes and services offered to people with disability and to activate the concept of institutional partnership through social responsibility. Those moves aim to empower people with disability in the society.

Moreover, an initiative to support holders of Disabled Persons’ card was introduced during the event. The initiative is supervised by the CMA in coordination with insurance companies to provide advantages and special offers for people with disability in the Sultanate of Oman.
