Deputy Primer honours Housing Finance Exhibition participants

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, housing services are undergoing continuous development to meet the needs of citizens.

The Deputy Prime Minister said this reflected the size of efforts and to raise the efficiency of support and social protection provided to citizens, to contribute to making the Bahraini family safe and stable at all times, in line with comprehensive development process led by HM the King.

The Deputy Premier emphasized the importance of reviewing policies for the sustainability of housing services, which resulted in establishing a strategic partnership with the private sector.

The private sector has contributed significantly in developing social housing in Bahrain, within the context of diversifying housing solutions and making them accessible to eligible citizens, considering their financial ability, needs, and preferences, he added.

This came during a ceremony held by the Deputy Premier to honour banks and real-estate representatives for their participation in the Housing Finance Exhibition in its second edition. Eight banks and 20 real estate companies were recognised at the event.

Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, Housing and Urban Planning Minister was present.

The Deputy Premier underlined that this ceremony came as a celebration of the success of the cooperation between the Housing and Urban Planning Ministry and the private sector which was demonstrated by the interest show by citizens wishing to benefit from financing services.

Under the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to organise exhibitions and events that contribute to introducing housing financing services and programs, efforts will continue to work on expanding the circle of beneficiaries of government initiatives aimed at accelerating the pace of providing housing services and meeting them, he added.

Shaikh Khalid expressed appreciation to the Housing and Urban Planning Minister and the ministry employees for their efforts to implement the Government Plan.

He also praised the banks’ efforts to facilitate procedures and provide exclusive offers at exhibitions organised by the ministry; and the contributions of real estate companies in diversifying housing options for citizens.

On her part, the Housing Minister said that the social housing sector witnessed remarkable growth, with the support of HM King Hamad and follow up of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, noting that thousands of housing requests were met in one year since the launch of the financing programmes.

She added that citizens have shown interest in the programmes and many have transferred their requests from traditional services to immediate services.

She expressed appreciation to the Deputy Premier for his efforts to enhance the performance of government work and following up on the implementation of projects.

The minister said the government’s vision on creating innovative programmes to provide immediate solutions to citizens, has been demonstrated through the results achieved in the housing finance exhibition in terms of turnout for financing services.

Reservations through Tasheel financing programme had reached 70% during the exhibition, while reservations for ‘Suhail’ project’s units had reached 93%.

Al Romaihi pointed out that the ministry is currently working on developing a comprehensive policy to organise several housing events that serve citizens and help them benefit from the services provided by the ministry that cater to different requirements.
