Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, condemned Sunday the terrorist attack in Egypt’s Sinai region, stressing in an issued statement that, “this criminal act is part of a series of sabotage operations carried out by groups that have nothing to do with religion and are immoral and inhuman.”

He added that, “confronting them is a religious and national duty, given that this shameful act is an attack on Arab national security.”

Mufti Derian also affirmed his “solidarity with Egypt and its proud people,” offering deepest condolences to the families of the fallen martyrs of the Egyptian army.
