Dhofar University Holds Graduation Ceremony

Salalah, The Dhofar University today celebrated the graduation of the 14th batch (1385 graduates) of the University, with masters, bachelor and diploma degrees for the academic year 2017-2018.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Rawya bint Saud al- Busaidiyah, Minister of Higher Education, in the presence of Sheikh Mustuhail bin Ahmed al- Mashani, State Advisor, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dhofar University, a number of ministers, honorable members of the State Council, members of Majlis A’Shura, officials and parents of students.

The Minister of Higher Education stressed the need for graduate students to continue their scientific journey in order to achieve more successes added to the national assets, calling for concerted efforts and academic and research contributions in order to enrich the educational process and its outputs in various fields of development.

Dr. Hassan bin Said Kashoob, Vice- Chancellor of the University of Dhofar, delivered a speech in which he explained that the number of graduates for this year has increased by 6%, compared to the previous batch, in various disciplines and degrees, stressing the need for graduates to adhere to the authentic values of the society dignity and determination to strengthen the foundations of the country’s unity, its security and stability.

The 14th batch included 1385 graduates in various disciplines, including 604 graduates from the college of Commerce and Management Sciences.

The graduates of the College of Commerce and Administrative Sciences, 223 graduates from the college of Arts and Applied Sciences, 264 graduates from the College of Engineering, and 150 graduates from the College of Law, in addition to 144 graduates with master degrees in the disciplines of management, education, curriculum, English language, electrical engineering, computer and chemical engineering.
