Brigadier. Eng. Mohammed bin Awadh al- Rowas, Director General of Traffic at Royal Oman Police (ROP) today met at the Traffic Safety Institute in A’Seeb with driving instructors in the Governorate of Muscat and discussed with them a number of issues regarding allowing driving license seekers to take up the test using manual or automatic vehicles with effect from January 2019.
During the meeting, Brigadier. Eng. Al- Rowas, Director General of Traffic at Royal Oman Police stressed the fact that the decision came in response to the requests made by male and female driving instructors and individuals as well.
The decision is based on a study conducted by the Directorate General of Traffic. The study, which covered driving instructors at the various governorate, pointed out that most driving instructor are looking forward for the change and providing them a certain period to adjust their conditions this year.
