Muscat, Dr. Madeeha Ahmed al Shaibani, Minister of Education, issued a ministerial decision to form the main committee for a project to upgrade post-basic education technical stream.

The decision was in implementation of directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik to take steps to study requirements for upgrading the post-basic education technical system, determine expertise and human resources required for the project and approve a working plan that responds to labour market needs and future demands of technical occupations.

The decision states that the main committee will devise a mechanism for its implementation.

According to the decision, a technical team will approve proposed study plans based on future requirements, and it will also monitor the progress of work on the project.

The decision assumes significance within the context of Oman Vision 2040, which focuses on projects that enhance values and take into account principles of the Islamic religion and Omani identity. The future strategy supports the diversification of educational pathways and resources.
