Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry reaffirmed opposition to interference into internal affairs of Sudan just to ensure successful endeavors to help Sudan get out of this difficult situation.

This came during a telephone call between Shoukry and his Swedish counterpart Tobias Billstrom to discuss the developments in Sudan, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Shoukry affirmed the necessity of working to reach permanent ceasefire and avoid breaches in this matter to stop bloodshed of Sudanese people.

Shoukry also spoke with Billstrom about Egypt’s efforts and communications with all parties, the statement said.

Meanwhile, Billstrom expressed his country’s concern about the latest developments and their impacts on civilians and the foreign communities there.

The call also covered means of supporting and consolidating the ceasefire to help humanitarian relief campaigns access the wounded, it noted.
