The shores of North Sinai Governorate in Egypt witnessed a decline in the water level of the Mediterranean Sea, in a phenomenon that occurs for the first time, according to “Russia Today” news agency.

Residents of the city of Arish confirmed that they were “surprised, since yesterday, Saturday, by a noticeable decline in the Mediterranean coast off the shore of the city of Arish, and a number of other beaches, in the Al-Rawaq area in the city of Bir al-Abd in North Sinai.”

The residents added, “The beach’s decline ranged between 10 to 15 meters, and this is a phenomenon that occurs for the first time, without determining the reasons for its decline.”
