Electricity Ministry participates in International Solar Alliance meeting

The Electricity and Water Affairs Ministry participated in the fifth meeting of the International Solar Alliance Regional Committee for Asia and the Pacific Region.

The meeting aims to advance solar energy deployment and to reduce carbon emissions and to expand the use of renewable energy resources in line with the goals of sustainable development.

The ministry’s participation came in line with the direction of Bahrain to encourage investment in renewable energy projects, and to keep pace with the global transformation of investment in the fields of solar energy by achieving optimal utilization of climatic conditions, and working to achieve initiatives that fall within the framework of implementing the National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP).

The meeting discussed the importance of diversifying renewable energy investments, the mechanisms of transition to clean energy, the possibility of expanding the use of solar energy to achieve a greater reduction in costs, and ensuring universal access to energy.

They reviewed the main initiatives of the International Solar Alliance for the Asia-Pacific region and the support provided by the alliance to member states.
