Exhibition Themed “Reflections” by Russian Artist Kirill Ovchinikov Launched at National Museum

Muscat, The National Museum, represented by the Learning Center, inaugurated an exhibition themed “Reflections” by the Russian artist Kirill Ovchinikov, who is the first Russian artist to combine fine art with design. He excelled in creating his own approach, which manifested in scarves, fabrics, clothes, ornaments, interior design and ceramics. It corresponds to global changes and his works are characterized by a unique artistic style inspired by legendary stories and scenes from the Old and New Testaments.

The production of each piece takes about a year of hard work and the artist established his own brand in 2008. It gained wide popularity and international fame within the fields of artists in fashion design and art.

The inauguration of the exhibition followed a lecture titled “How can the artist create his brand” presented by the artist Ovchinikov. It included a number of topics, most notably how the artist finds a unique artistic style that distinguishes him from others.

The Russian artists also reviewed a porcelain business set; a multi-award winning shoe set and other products. He also reviewed works that he designed specifically for museums, as well as for hotels in Russia.

The artist referred to a set of ideas that help them convert their drawings into products bearing their brand. Finally, he gave the attendees a set of tips from his practical experiences, the most important of which is not to hesitate and to experiment and to combine traditional talent and talent using digital software.
