European Union High Representative Josep Borrell Thursday nominated Anne Koistinen as the EU Ambassador to Kuwait.

The Finnish diplomat is currently Deputy Head of the EU External Action Service (EEAS), the EU’s diplomatic service, Integrated Approach-Methodology and Implementation Division, according to an EEAS press release.

She has previously also served as Head of sector in the EEAS Division responsible for Missions Staffing Policy in the Managing Directorate for Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability.

Ms. Koistinen has also served as Head of the Political, Press and Information section in the EU Delegation in Egypt and at the EU Delegation to the United Nations in Geneva, the release said.
