Ramallah – Ma’an – Today, Thursday, Israeli Occupation Army Minister Yoav Galant refused to release the body of the captive martyr, national leader and thinker Walid Daqqa (62 years old), who died on April 7, inside Assaf Harofeh Hospital.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Len-Gvir, justified Gallant’s refusal to release the body of the martyr Daqqa, “for fear of the outbreak of confrontations during the funeral ceremony, in the midst of the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.”

The martyr Daqqa, from the city of Baqa al-Gharbiyya in the 1948 territories, spent 39 years in the occupation prisons, and was killed as a result of the policy of deliberate medical negligence, ‘slow killing,’ followed by the occupation prison administration against sick prisoners.

The prisoner Daqqa was subjected to a number of abusive policies against the backdrop of his knowledge productions in particular. The occupation prison administration sought to
seize his writings and private books. He also faced solitary confinement and arbitrary transfer. The occupation issued a life sentence against him, which was later set at 37 years. The occupation added in 2018 He was sentenced to two years in prison, making him 39 years old.
