Gaza – Together – The government media office in the Gaza Strip announced on Monday that the fate of about 2,000 Palestinians who were in Nasser Hospital in the city of Khan Yunis when Israeli forces stormed it in February ‘is still unknown.’

The head of the office, Salama Marouf, said in a statement, ‘For the fourth day, the work of government crews continues to extract the martyrs from the mass grave in the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis (south of the Gaza Strip).’

Marouf added: “Today the bodies of 73 martyrs were recovered, bringing the total number of bodies recovered since last Friday to 283 martyrs.”

He continued: “The bodies of 42 martyrs were identified and identified, while the rest were not identified, knowing that the occupation army deliberately hid them, buried them deep in sand, and dumped waste on them.”

He reported that “some bodies of women, elderly people, and wounded people were found, while some of them were handcuffed and stripped of their clothes, indicating that they were exe
cuted in cold blood.”

He stated, “The fate of about 2,000 citizens who were present in the complex when the occupation army stormed it is still unknown, and it is not known whether they were arrested or killed and their bodies hidden.”

He considered that “the heinous crime committed by the occupation army by storming the Nasser Medical Complex, storming it twice, and destroying some of its parts, demonstrates the extent of the barbarism of this occupation and the immorality of its army, which is destroying all necessities of life and means of survival inside the Gaza Strip.”

Marouf, the Prosecutor General of the International Criminal Court, called for ‘an investigation into this massacre committed by the occupation army in the Nasser Complex and also the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City.’

Earlier today, the Civil Defense Service in the Gaza Strip announced that the number of bodies discovered had risen to 283, in a mass grave in the Nasser Medical Complex that was discovered last Friday evening.

e agency indicated in a statement that its crews continue to search for more bodies in the cemetery.

On April 7, the Israeli army announced its withdrawal from Khan Yunis, 4 months after launching a ground operation that aimed to recover Israeli detainees held by Hamas, but it left the city without achieving its goals.
