GCC Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee holds 15th meeting in Muscat

MUSCAT: The GCC Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee, held its 15th meeting under the presidency of the Sultanate of Oman at Al Bustan Palace hotel, on Monday.

The meeting was headed by Yaqoub bin Mohammed al Harthi, Deputy Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura.

The meeting discussed the GCC joint topics submitted by the GCC legislative councils which included over 15 proposals.

Also discussed at the meeting were the roles of the GCC legislative councils in enhancing investment between the GCC states, supporting national economies and protecting social values through the mainstream and social media and supporting the realization of cybersecurity by exploiting artificial intelligence. The topics discussed during the meeting will be brought before 16th meeting of Heads of Shura, Representatives, National Assembly, and Parliament Councils in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The meeting also discussed a proposal for forming a cooperation committee with parliaments of the Latin American states as well as a proposal to submit the final recommendations of the joint symposiums to the GCC Supreme Council.

The meeting approved the agenda of the 16th meeting of the Heads of Shura, Representatives, National Assembly, and Parliament Councils in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which will be held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura.
