GCC Secretary General meets OPEC Secretary General

Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Haitham Al Ghais, Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

The GCC secretary general highlighted the importance of constant efforts to cement and coordinate oil policies between the GCC and OPEC, noting the need to ensure the stability of oil markets globally and to secure an effective, economic and regular supply of oil and its industries around the world.

The meeting reviewed the endeavours exerted by OPEC in coordination with the organization member states within the framework of elevating its position and making it ready to face future challenges, in addition to the international efforts to maintain the balance and stability of oil markets.

The meeting also shed light on the GCC’s interest in strengthening relations with OPEC and developing them across all fields.

Albudaiwi praised the great efforts made by OPEC and its important and vital role in ensuring the stability of oil markets.
