Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Delegation Concludes Visit to Oman

The delegation of specialists from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) concluded its visit to the Sultanate of Oman by taking part in a workshop entitled “Approaches in Entrepreneurship Research” at the University of Nizwa.

The workshop aimed at developing tools and mechanisms in conducting the national survey of entrepreneurship and preparing the national report on the same. It also targets formulating practical recommendations which contribute to providing decision makers with qualitative and quantities results and indicators.

The GEM delegation’s visit comes within the framework of viewing the Sultanate of Oman’s experience in entrepreneurship and supporting the system of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Further, the delegation participated in a discussion panel on developing entrepreneurship in Oman, held in the Innovation Labs of Omantel.

Moreover, the delegation met with the Chairperson of the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED). They were introduced to ASMED’s plans and strategic approaches, as well as goals related to achieving Oman Vision 2040.

The visit also included touring the innovative industries incubator, ITHCA Group, the Industrial Innovation Academy (IIA), the Innovation Factory and the Invest Oman Lounge.
