Health Ministry Starts Vaccinating New Target Segment Against Covid-19

Muscat, Within the National Strategy for Immunization against Coronavirus (Covid-19), the Ministry of Health began today administering vaccine to a new target segment which includes people aged 45 and above in all governorates of the Sultanate.

Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat and Sahil Health Centre in the Wilayat of Quriyat have started receiving targeted people.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), Dr. Zainab Abdul Razaq al-Balushi, a general health specialist in the Ministry of Health said that Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre receives the target segment of people aged 45 and above, as they have to book an appointment for the vaccination. She affirmed that the campaign is witnessing a large turnout of people wishing to be vaccinated.

She added that the turnout of people is considered a good sign of social awareness on the importance of vaccination against Covid-19. She further stated that the vaccination centre consists of two main halls for males and females, as there are 60 vaccination rooms in the centre.

The Ministry of Health has emphasized the importance of booking an appointment through the website https://covid19.mog.gov.om or through the Tarassud Plus application before heading to government vaccination centres in various governorates of the Sultanate. This process guarantees a safe and smooth vaccination procedure
