HH Sayyid Fahd Heads Oman’s Delegation at 42nd GCC Summit

Riyadh, On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, headed the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation taking part in the 42nd Arab Gulf Cooperation (GCC) Summit, which kicked off at Al Dar’eeya Palace here today.

HRHPrince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence in Saudi Arabia, gave a speech in which he underlined a cluster of political and economic issues of concern to GCC states. He also commended the achievements made by the GCC at all levels.

In his speech before the 42nd GCC Summit, HH Sayyid Fahd expressed thanks and appreciation for the tremendous efforts HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman has exerted to advance the interests of the GCC and its member states.

HH Sayyid Fahd said, “For a long time, the GCC has not seen such a great scope of harmony and such earnest desire that is exhibited by all to promote joint action for the sake of GCC peoples.”

HH Sayyid Fahd addressed a message of appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud for the attention they have accorded to the GCC march. This attention, he said, reflected on all our countries.

HH Sayyid Fahd also thanked King Hamad bin Issa of Bahrain for his role in managing the previous GCC Summit and the missions it accomplished.

In his speech,HH Sayyid Fahd said, “I am delighted to convey to you all the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Omani government and people, who express their sincere regards to you and all your peoples.”

HH Sayyid Fahd voiced the Sultanate of Oman’s welcome to chair the next summit, affirming that Oman will do its best during next year. Oman is envisaging a mechanism to maintain active convening of major GCC sessions in Saudi Arabia, said HH Sayyid Fahd.
