HH Shaikh Faisal attends forum marking Turkmen poet’s 300th birthday


Assigned by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment and Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC), represented Bahrain at “The Interconnection of Times and Civilizations – the Basis of Peace and Development,” an international forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi.

The forum, held in Ashgabat, was hosted under the patronage of President Serdar Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan.

HH Shaikh Faisal conveyed HM King Hamad’s greetings to the President of Turkmenistan, reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation across various fields.

In his speech at the event, HH Shaikh Faisal expressed Bahrain’s pride in participating in the forum, noting the Kingdom’s dedication to intellectual and cultural contributions as key to promoting mutual understanding, coexistence, and peace.

HH Shaikh Faisal also highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Turkmenistan, emphasising the poet Fragi’s significance in preserving the country’s historical legacy. He congratulated the President and the people of Turkmenistan on the success of the forum, which shed light on the region’s intellectual and literary movements.

On the sidelines of the forum, HH Shaikh Faisal attended a reception hosted by President Berdimuhamedow at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ashgabat, followed by a luncheon for heads of state and delegations attending the forum.
